PROJECT OVERVIEW
"Checked Out" is the central branding for the UNLV Graphic Design Capstone Exhibition, created to encapsulate and define the entirety of the senior class of 2025.
As my team and I began working on this project, our goal was to concentrate on the present moment, practicing mindfulness and embracing our current identities beyond graphic design. What was important to us was acknowledging that we, as humans, are complex and influenced by our environments that shape our thoughts, behaviors, and interactions.

CREATIVE DIRECTION
The concept of Checked Out draws inspiration from vintage grocery store aesthetics, combined with modern maximalist themes influenced by contemporary trends. It reflects the idea that grocery shopping, and stores in general, relate to how we consume and live our lives. Each item placed in a basket symbolizes different moments in our personal history—things we needed for sustenance, enjoyment, or necessity. It explores the relationship between a person and their possessions, emphasizing themes of individualism and expression.
DESIGN ELEMENTS
In designing our logo, we aimed to blend two styles to achieve a harmonious composition. We sought to represent two themes: "Checked" symbolizes our academic focus, while "Out" reflects fluidity, freedom, and self-expression.
MEMBERSHIP CARD
We designed a physical membership card that also serves as a form of identification and a keepsake for each student. Similar to a membership card from wholesales like Costco or Sam's Club, it reinforces the brand message.
Additionally, the final exhibition materials and planning were conducted in collaboration with the entire cohort. A total of 47 students were divided into ten teams: Look Development, Website, Event Book, Asset, Social Media, Photography, Collateral, Distribution, Pinch Hitter, and Event Planning.
